Project HEED (Help Educate to Eliminate Diabetes) is a diabetes prevention program created by the East Harlem Partnership for Diabetes Prevention (EHPDP). Our program helps participants prevent or delay diabetes by heping them to:
- Lose weight
- Maintain stable blood sugar levels
- Share healthy eating and exercise habits with family and friends
We are now working on other projects to make our program more accessible to East Harlem residents.
iHeed Coming Soon
The Project HEED team is currently developing i-HEED, a mobile tool that East Harlem residents can use to improve their own health and the health of their community. Users will be able to use the app to track their nutrition and exercise, find out about health events in their community, identify local places of wellness, such as restaurants with healthy menu options and fun parks, and organize together for better access to healthy foods and safe spaces for exercise.
Stay tuned for more information about our app!
